Dana White has announced the inaugural fight card for UFC Freedom 250 at the White House, sparking community debate over the value and predictability of these historic matchups. As with recent spectacles like The Sphere in LA, the UFC seems content to sell extraordinary venues rather than build stacked cards—reserving marquee matchups to double revenue on regular main events. Despite mixed reactions, several fighters on this unprecedented card have reached superstar status: champions Ilia Topuria and Alex Pereira are at the peak of their careers, while fan favorites Justin Gaethje and Diego Lopes consistently deliver thrilling performances that drive collectible-card demand.
Today we're analyzing the complete UFC Freedom 250 White House card, providing outcome assumptions and investment recommendations for each athlete's most sought-after rookie cards, signed memorabilia, and limited-edition autographs. As the first UFC event and inaugural professional sports competition ever hosted and broadcast from the White House, this historic occasion presents unique opportunities for sports card collectors and investors.
Bare with us, while countless of cards are indeed valuable for each athlete, we had to pick one or two per fighter - we worked out the list below based on market data/sales comparison to leverage what we think are optimal picks.
Main Event: Ilia Topuria Vs Justin Gaethje
While Justin Gaethje has demonstrated remarkable resilience in recent UFC performances, showcasing elite cardio conditioning and his signature chaotic striking patterns that disrupt opponent rhythm, our analysis favors Ilia Topuria as the emerging GOAT contender of this featherweight generation. Topuria's precision striking combines surgical accuracy with knockout power, but fans often overlook his dominant grappling credentials—he's controlled elite grapplers like Charles Oliveira on the ground and finished dangerous Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialists throughout his UFC career. For this lightweight title fight, while Justin has the experience to create traps and chaos for an upset, Ilia Topuria holds the edge across the board and is likely to secure a finish within three rounds.
Safe Investment Pick: Topuria collectible cards represent the strongest long-term value for this historic White House UFC event, given his undefeated record and championship trajectory. However, Gaethje's unpredictable fighting style and proven ability to create scrambles and exchanges could produce an upset victory, making his signed memorabilia a high-risk, high-reward collectible investment for UFC Freedom 250 White House fight night.
2024 Topps Royalty UFC - Superior Signatures # SS-ITA Ilia Topuria
Given that Ilia Topuria's 1/1 Black Autograph ranks among our Top 10 Most Expensive UFC Cards Ever Sold at $101,000 last year, his first on-card autograph from the Royalty set remains significantly undervalued in today's UFC collectibles market. Royalty represents a premium tier in UFC card collections, though these cards present grading challenges due to soft corners and edges that damage easily during handling and storage.
Current Market Pricing: Serialized and non-serialized versions of Topuria Royalty autographs start around $1,000 and increase based on card condition and serial numbering for UFC collectibles investment opportunities.
Buyer Warning: Recent eBay auction patterns show sellers frequently canceling low-bid auctions (a practice we strongly despise), creating market manipulation risks for UFC card investors.
Recommendation: Target "Buy It Now" listings if available, which allow direct seller negotiation if initial pricing exceeds your UFC collectibles budget. We have seen many other first on-card autographs in great condition for other fighters going easily throughout the $5,000 - there is no reason this card won't surpass it on short and long-term. A must target for serious collectors and investors.
2018 Topps UFC Knockout #3 Justin Gaethje RC
While we would typically recommend his first on-card autograph (2021 Panini Immaculate, Mark Of Greatness set), these cards are extremely scarce—the last #/99 sold for only $100 in January, indicating limited market availability. The remaining graded options between his first rookie card (2018 Topps) and his first autograph rookie card (2021 Panini) are currently overvalued in the market. Unless you're willing to risk thousands of dollars on a 1/1 that might depreciate significantly given Gaethje's recent statements about nearing retirement, we recommend more conservative investment approaches.
Low-Risk Investment Strategy: We suggest targeting raw versions of his 2018 Topps Knockout rookie card (a classic and popular insert), preferably numbered/serialized and in excellent condition suitable for professional grading. This approach offers the best value proposition for UFC card collectors seeking affordable entry points into Gaethje's memorabilia market.
Heavyweight Title Fight: Alex Pereira Vs Cyril Gane
50/50 Fight Call: This represents Pereira's heavyweight debut, moving up from his current light heavyweight championship reign at 205lbs to challenge elite heavyweight contender Ciryl Gane (265lbs). The significant size and reach advantage favors Gane, who brings superior heavyweight experience and conditioning.
Despite Gane's controversial fighting tactics (including eye pokes and strikes to the back of the head), his mobility, size advantage, and heavyweight conditioning should neutralize Pereira's power over five rounds. However, Pereira's fight-ending ability means one perfectly-timed counter could change everything in the opening rounds—expect Gane by unanimous decision, unless Pereira lands his signature power shot in rounds 1-2 before heavyweight fatigue sets in.
Safe Investment Pick: Alex Pereira's global fame and popularity far exceed Ciryl Gane's market reach. Fan excitement surrounding Pereira's legendary knockout power and devastating striking ability makes his collectible cards a superior investment opportunity regardless of fight outcome, positioning his memorabilia for stronger long-term value in the UFC collectibles market.
2024 Topps Knockout UFC - 1-2 Combo Autograph Relics #OTC-APA Alex Pereira
When it comes to entry-level Alex Pereira UFC card investments, the 2023 ONE-TWO Dual Relic Autograph is a particularly attractive option. While the worn relics are not sourced from a specific match or event, the ONE-TWO set is a beloved and iconic design featuring Pereira's distinctly contrasting relic colors - a collector favorite for added visual appeal.
Additionally, this first on-card autograph further enhances the card's value proposition. Although the ONE-TWO set can present grading challenges, its broader availability and affordability compared to Pereira's Panini rookie and autographed rookie cards (2023 Flashback Signatures - which are lacking RC logo) make it our preferred choice for new investors in terms of long-term collectibility and investment potential.
And for the ones who can spend thousand of dollars, we must add what will go down as the funkiest insert of them all: the 2023 Panini Chronicles UFC Kaboom! Alex Pereira Rookie #17. However, it is nearly impossible to find one, this insert has become a trademark with the Panini brand across all sport categories, and one of the best looking Rookie cards for Alex Pereira.
2023 Panini Chronicles UFC Kaboom! Alex Pereira ROOKIE #17
2021 Panini Immaculate Collection UFC #103 Ciryl Gane
For Gane, the no-brainer choice is the 2021 Panini Immaculate, which is the first year for this iconic premium set. The card features a patch and Gane's first on-card autograph. The cherry on top is that Gane used a red pen across all the different serialized versions, which is a fan favorite color (with 99% of UFC card autographs typically done in blue or black).
Bantamweight: Sean O'Malley Vs Aiemann Zahabi
Sean O’Malley is a rangy southpaw striker who excels at distance, footwork, and countering; Aiemann Zahabi, who is clearly underrated, is a pressure-oriented grappler who looks to close range, clinch, and secure takedowns. The fight comes down to range and takedown defense: O’Malley wins if he keeps it standing; Zahabi wins by imposing wrestling and top control.
Edge goes to Sean O’Malley for his superior striking and range control, but Zahabi has a realistic upset route through sustained pressure and effective grappling.
Safe Investment Pick: Sean O’Malley remains a sensational, surgical striker—fans generally prefer stand-up fights, and his are an absolute delight to watch. Collectibility-wise, his achievements as a champion and improvements in his ground game (despite two losses to Merab—one by decision and one by submission) have earned him a legitimate place in collectors’ hearts as one of the most gifted fighters of his generation.
2018 Topps Chrome UFC - Autographs #FA-SOM Sean O'Malley
2018 Topps Chrome UFC Autographs # FA‑SOM Sean O’Malley is a strong investment: it is both first and on-card autograph of a high-profile, marketable champion with standout charisma in the cage; the Chrome autograph set is highly collectible and durable; scarce numbered parallels and potential for high grades boost long-term value; sustained fan demand and O’Malley’s highlight-reel style help maintain resale liquidity.
In short — rookie-era signature, brand pedigree, scarcity, and star power.
2024 Topps Knockout UFC - Knockout Autographs #KNA-AZI Aiemann Zahabi
With non‑serial copies selling for about $7 and serialized versions around $25+, this first on-card auto rookie is the best low‑risk, high‑reward card on the list by far. While Aiemann Zahabi hasn’t faced the likes of O’Malley, he has decision wins over veterans José Aldo and Dominick “Chito” Vera, showing he can handle experienced competition in the division. At that entry price, if he wins, it could be an easy 5x on whatever serial you bought assuming he will get into the top 5 of the division.
Lightweight: Mauricio Ruffy Vs Michael Chandler
Following Conor McGregor’s latest comments on The Chael Sonnen Show after the White House announcement, the Irish superstar made his point of view clear: the UFC doesn’t care about matchups, believing the White House premium will be enough to drive sales. McGregor is also reportedly back in the testing pool and ready for a fight, and was supposed to comeback against Chandler.. So here we are with Chandler vs. Ruffy — two explosive fighters who like to stand and trade. Chandler has the experience and grappling edge, however Mauricio is a serious contender with KO highlight-reel power and has shown he can take on dangerous veterans like King Green and Rafael Fiziev.
Even as one of the most entertaining fighters in the cage for the fans, card collectors often prefer a winner — and too often Michael seems willing to take a loss for the sake of the show. So in terms of exponential value, we’re siding with Ruffy.
2025 Stadium Club UFC - Base Autographs #BCA-MRY Mauricio 'Ruffy' Santos
Not a popular insert, but the very first on-card rookie autograph of Ruffy. A sensational striking-action frame that costs about $50 for base copies and more for serialed versions. Few have been graded, as these Stadium cards are likely among the lowest-quality prints produced—check search results for any graded examples.
2021 Panini Select UFC - Michael Chandler Rookie Signature Prizm
Exceptionally, this is not Chandler’s first rookie auto or first on‑card auto — so why the premium? While it remains a rookie year card, UFC Panini Prizm is the brand standard for true rookies, but Select often outvalues “entry‑level” sets like Donruss thanks to its higher‑quality chrome finish, hobby‑only supply, and tiered scarcity (Concourse, Premier, Octagon) that makes certain base cards much harder to find. Additionally, fighters posing with national flags add collectible appeal, and Chandler’s flag card is a particular favorite among collectors.
Featherweight: Diego Lopes Vs Steve Garcia
Diego Lopes holds the edge over Steve Garcia: Lopes is a technically polished, volume-oriented striker with superior range management and cardio, while Garcia is a heavy‑handed, aggressive brawler who often forces wild exchanges. Against Garcia, Lopes’ cleaner striking, movement and takedown defense should allow him to control distance and rack up rounds; Garcia’s upset path is a quick, chaotic knockout or pressure that overwhelms Lopes early. Overall prediction: Lopes by decision or late stoppage; Garcia is a live upset threat if he lands early. As of now, no Steve Garcia card has been produced — if he wins, he could get a first TOPPS Now RC card. Note TOPPS Now rookies aren’t considered “true rookies” because they aren’t from the main commercial sets.
2024 Topps Knockout UFC - Knockout Autographs #KNA-DLS Diego Lopes
It was a tough choice between the 2025 Topps Chrome UFC (the first set after Topps took over Panini), which includes Lopes’ first true rookie and autograph, and his first on‑card auto in the Knockout set. Considering entry price and visual appeal, we chose the Knockout on‑card autograph—plenty of base and serialed copies are available now, a genuine sleeper card. Although he recently lost a second title fight to legend Alexander Volkanovski by unanimous decision, Lopes remains a fan‑favorite entering his prime and has many years ahead to improve his game.
Middleweight: Bo Nickal Vs Kyle Daukaus
Interesting matchup between Bo, an elite grappler, and Kyle, a BJJ specialist. Both have improved their striking and can land hard shots; however, if Nickal secures takedowns and applies top pressure he likely wins by ground-and-pound or decision. Daukaus’ upset path is capitalizing on positional transitions to lock up a submission. Overall advantage: Nickal. Kyle Daukaus has no cards yet — don't confuse him with his brother Chris Daukaus, whose Panini cards are widely available.
2023 Panini Donruss Optic UFC Downtown - #5 Bo Nickal Rookie Prizm
You could go with his first on-card autos, the 2023 Panini Immaculate Collection UFC # 102, or the 2023 Panini Immaculate Mark Of Greatness, but the Downtown is another iconic Panini insert with its distinctive red Rookie logo on it. This Special Short Print dropped 30% off value, with latest sales at $300 raw and $500 for high grades (9 and above), which is a very attractive entry point.
Key Takeaway (Not Financial Advice):
While match outcomes directly influence collectible card values, we believe the most popular names like Topuria, Pereira, Gaetje, O'malley, Lopes will rise up for their historical presence at the White House, regardless of the outcomes.
Final Note: Balance enthusiasm with caution—focus on cards where scarcity, story, and quirks align, not hype. Stay informed, patient, and prioritize long-term appeal.
